Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin has made her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11 which made the actress second in Oscar history. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24 in 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster as Best Supporting Actress playing the edgy and open daughter of Holly Hunter's lead role in The Piano. Her family moved from Canada to New Zealand when she was just a baby and was raised in New Zealand. Her role was Flora McGrath the daughter of a mute Scottish pianist who, in the middle of the 19th century makes her way into New Zealand for an arranged marriage when she responded to an open audition call at the age of nine. She was older and had no previous experience with acting. As a teenager, she moved to America. Paquin had a small part in the film's title role when she was just a young girl in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and played the lead role in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin did a brief appearance in the 1997 television film adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad, she played the queen of Spain in a minor part. Also, she played teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon(1999) and Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character Polexia Aphrodisa.
