Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist, television personality as well as the proprietor of the independently free online news publication The Huffington Post. She moved out of Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and obtained a MA at Cambridge University in Economics. The first non-English student, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. When she graduated, she made her mark as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later she created an online voice portal which offered critical observations on the political scenario. The fame of her name helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna was famous when she decided in 2003 to become an Independent Candidate for the California Recall election to succeed the former governor Davis. Alongside this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes identified her as the top female in the media industry in 2009. She ranked 12th on the listing. The Guardian also included her on the list of 100 most influential media in 2009. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her head of its media division and also included several additional AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. Her character was formed through her relationship with her mother and her bond with her father despite being extremely close to him. In her early years she showed her leadership skills that she is still known for. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the college debate society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972, her master's in Economics was awarded. After her graduation she worked as a journalist-critic and a host on TV. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. She began to write books and enlisting his assistance for editing.
