Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host as well as the founder and editor of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she moved to England at the age of sixteen and then completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. She was the first student non-UK to become the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. After graduation she made her name as a conservative syndicated columnist and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed an online voice portal which offered critical observations about the current political climate. Arianna was able to attract many prominent contributors to share their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna gained fame in 2003 when she decided to contest as an independent candidate in the California recall vote to succeed then Governor Davis. In addition to this she also led the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as the most influential women in media gaining 12th position on their listing and the following year the Guardian listed her on the top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was made the president of this group. The acquisition included a number of AOL properties at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. Though she shared a close friendship with her mother and father but it was their connection which shaped her. She was a leader from the beginning. At the age of 16, she travelled to England for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she joined Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the only president from outside the country. In 1972 she received an honorary degree in Economics. Her professional career as a journalist and television host was born after graduation. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She began to write books, taking his help for editing.
