Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19th of 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to get away from the struggles of life by using her vivid and expansive imagination. Before she was able to read and write she had already composed the songs she wrote herself. The guitar that she first received was presented by her mother when she was eighteen. She started singing at an Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. She recorded her first album within the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. The singer established a name on the local circuit while in high school but she dreamed of a bigger stage. On the very day she graduated high school, in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer for his show that was syndicated from the beginning. Parton got her first gig in the year 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Parton quit the Wagoner's band in 1974, when her solo hits such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene outsold the collaborations. The song by Parton, I Will Never Have Love for You (for Wagoner), was able to reach the number. #1 spot following their split. The first time in 1974.
